  • HAIR!!

    HOLA!


    I haven't followed hair styles in years, usually just leafing through a book when I decide to get mine cut.

    Elita made a hair bow out of her hair!  She sent this to me this morning on the cell phone:
    Looked up some Youtube videos about it.  Pretty neat!

  • WHAT A BARGAIN!

    Went to Kohl's today and used the 15% off card.  Went to the 85-90% off rack and found this cute top for Elita.  I hope she likes it.  Total spent was $3.00!!
     Off today.  Snowing again and 32.  Want to go to Carriage Hill and get some pictures but like staying in here where it's warm too!  

    Maybe I will go when Larry leaves for work, get those boots on and a hat for my hair.  I hate wearing hats!

    Will have a quick toast tonight at midnight and then in the bed by 12:30 as I have to work tomorrow.

  • RESOLUTIONS

    HOLA!


    A new resolution for the new year is on my mind.  I have never been a "PC" person and Christmas break and Easter break are still that.  I won't be put in a box when it comes to "what I am" either.  If you don't like what I call myself too bad.  I am 2 races and I still say bi-racial because that's what I am.

    I am proud that I have stuck to the 2 resolutions I made last year and plan to still be working on them in the new year.  

    Life is short and, Lord willing, I plan to get the most out of this new year as I possibly can.  Hey, that sounds like a new resolution!

    I work on New Year's Day so I will drink my small glass and champagne On New Year's Eve when the ball drops and be in bed by 12:30!!!







  • FIRST SNOW STORM 2012

    HOLA!



    We got 5 or 6 inches yesterday.   This morning it was still BAD driving to work but coming back was nice as the roads were clear.   
    We are an emergency snow route so the big salt truck was coming by not long after I got home.  Took me 45 mins. where it is usually 25-30.
    Back patio.
    Carlito was very busy yesterday!
    Supposed to get some light snow Sat. but hoping it is enough to do something in.  

    Larry took her back to Athens, OH this morning as she has a part-time job now so she couldn't miss that.

    Prayed for the people of Newtown before opening presents this morning,that they will be comforted by the Holy Spirit to get through this day.  

    Candelight service was nice last night.  I only get to go to church every other Sun. evening at this church so Christmas Eve was special.  Still looking for a job with every other weekend off.  Till then will have to listen to the sermons online.

    Hoping all of you have a blessed Christmas and remember the freedom we have to celebrate the birth of Jesus without persecution.  With another American pastor imprisoned in Iran, we should never take for granted the right to worship freely.  Please pray that he will be released soon.


    Elita loves her new dress!

    Got it at Kohl's, 90% off and then 15% Kohl's card so paid less than $7 for an $85 dress!



     

    She is going to get darker stockings to wear with it, as those were all she had to wear when she came home.

    WED. UPDATE:
    Elita was supposed to get her hair relaxed this morning but salon is closed due to big snow storm.  Hoping she can get it done tomorrow and then Larry can take her back to Athens to work her part-time job there till classes restart.  We have a "Winter Emergency Activation" at the hospital which means they expect all scheduled people to come in but there are going to be call offs.  Will put up video and pictures later when I get home.

    VERY windy out now and all day LOTS of blowing rain!!  Current temp 46 but feels a LOT colder!


    We probably won't get snow for Christmas so I will take pictures of what we get tomorrow.

    This is SOOOOO pretty!
    It would be nice to have enough snow this year to at least go sledding once.  Last year I didn't get to do any.  

    Snow pants fit great this year so I am really hoping for some!

    Hope everyone is safe out there if you have the bad storms they have been showing on TV.

    HOLA!


    Please pray for this town during this horrible time.  Some idiot called in a bomb threat to the Catholic church there in the middle of the noon mass.

    I don't know if they will catch the person but this is awful!  There were 1,000 people in that church today.  
    I still cannot get those people out of my mind.

    Got this little Christmas necklace for Charlie.  He didn't like the hat and it was too small.
    I just sat it on his  head because it was too small.
    No, I don't like it.  
    The Jingle Bells he likes.


    OK, this is the LAST one!
    He is such a good doggie to put up with my antics! 
    Before I went out to run some errands.  Now to get some decorations up outside and then get the tree together in the livingroom.  No Zumba tonight as I need to get these things done.

    Tomorrow Elita will be 21.  Can't believe it some days but I thank God for her every day.

  • CARLITO AND THE END OF THE YEAR . . .

    We found Carlito's old sweater up in the closet in the hall.  He never liked it but we put it on him earlier this week.

    He will be 13, as well as we can guess in Jan., Larry's birthday, the 19th.  The vet said to just give him a birthday as they had VERY little info on him when we adopted him from the Humane Society and they said he was about 2 back then.

    He was happy when Elita was home for Thanksgiving.  Hopefully I can take him for a walk tomorrow as I am off Monday and Tuesday.

    Hard to believe that 2012 is almost over!!  I did find lots to be thankful for and I have done a pretty good job of keeping the weight off but I need to stay on top of it so I stay fit and feeling younger than my almost 61!

    Haven't thought of a new resolution for next year but I am happy that I have been blessed to see these many years and to see Elita in college and that all of us have good health.

    Any of you ever watch a movie called My Dog Skip?  It made me cry in parts but it was a good movie and reminds me of Charlie growing up with Elita.  

    This link has some neat info on it.  I didn't know that several dogs played Skip.


    Remember the Season it is and that the best gift is knowing Jesus.
