HOLA,
We are going to be in another "life changing event" this year! Hopefully it all works out for the best with the plan we are going to do concerning it.
Larry is losing his job again and will know when his last day will be the end of March. He is taking a buyout rather than risk staying and have them tell him the end of the year he is done, and get no compensation at all.
His ATM tech team has 5 guys, including him. Three of them are taking the buyout.
We are going to pay the house off and try to find 2 used modestly priced cars as we need another one and he will have to get one as he will have to turn the company van in.
At 62 nobody wants to really hire you so we are praying he can find something once he knows when he is done with this job.
He did get an e-mail that there may be an opportunity to work as a contractor installing software in the ATMs but he won't know any details until he finds out when his last work day is.
We will also have to find minimum medical insurance and dental insurance as he will have none once he is done with NCR as an ATM tech.
Once we have the house paid off that will be a HUGE load off our shoulders and then he can use part of what that payment would be to pay off his other bills.
I am still looking for jobs but I may be stuck in the housekeeping job. They are being big time nitpickers at the hospital in just about every dept. now. I am just trying to keep my job until I get another one or retire at 62 and get a part-time job here in Huber Heights. Our dept. is awful as far as the managers' attitudes. They wonder why the younger people keep quitting but they give the older workers who show up on time and don't miss work a hard time over the stupidist things now. It does not make for good employee morale.
Trying not to tell Elita too much as she has to focus on school. She had 2 exams today so hopefully she passed them. Don't know when her others are but her Easter Break starts March 1st. We pick her up that following Monday after work.
It has been bothering Larry a little, losing a job just when we were making progress to get out of the hole but we are taking one phase at a time and praying that each decision we make will be one step further to the end of that tunnel.
Thanks for reading all of this. I am just glad that none of us are people who just have to have certain things we can't do without or life just doesn't go on. Living cheap definitely prepares you for hard times!
Charlie didn't want Larry to go to work.
