  • HE IS RISEN!

    Hola,

    FELIZ PASCUA everyone!

Remember the price paid for your eternity with Him.

    HASTA LUEGO!

Got home from work, ate dinner while watching cooking shows.  Larry is working 2nd shift this week so nobody home but Charlie and me.  He is off this Wed. and Thurs.

Sunny outside and 58 with a little breeze.  Glad I have 2 days off.

New month starts tomorrow and hoping I can get more exercise in.  We will see.

  • NIEVE!!

    HOLA,

We had a snow storm and at 9:15 am we had 6 1/2 inches.  It is still snowing lightly now and 32 degrees.  Our roads were pretreated so they are just wet now.

Charlie doesn't like the snow when he has to out to use the potty!

Hoping to go to Jorge's class tonight but will check the Zumba Studio website to be sure they are still open.

  • NO ESTA LA PRIMAVERA!!

    THIS IS NOT SPRING!!

    Hola,

Our area will be 20, yes 20 degrees below normal for the next 2 days and 10 degrees below normal for our high temps into next week!

We now have a "high" of 34 right now at 2:30, up from 26 this morning!

I find it ironic that it has been so windy today that part of my wind chime actually got blown to the ground, so I will have to restring it.

We had sun earlier but now it's overcast again.

Off work until Sat.  so I hope it warms up a little more so I can actually do something outside.

Now to put my Easter Egss on the fence at 3 pm.  At least the front yard isn't a soggy mess like the back yard!

I have a few left from last year to add to these.  Larry found them at the thrift store for a good price.

     UPDATE FOR THURSDAY MARCH 21

Charlie had LOTS of energy today!

    http://youtu.be/dEKwWqSChDU

Still wintry here with a low last night of 16 and only 27 now at 3:40 pm.  UGH!  This time last year we were 86 degrees!

  • UPDATE FROM YESTERDAY

    HOLA,

On vacation this week..So glad to be away from that place!

UPDATE:  We didn't get anymore kids on my shift but the nurse manager got mad at me because another person tattled about something I said to another housekeeper.  I was telling this housekeeper that the way they were making fun of this drunk boy and joking with him and being very loud at the nurses' station was inappropriate.  Well this other girl went and told her what I said.  Later the nurse manager then tells me. "I need to talk to you in "private".  You would think that meant go into a room, close the door and say what you have to say.  NOT!!  She had me follow her to the ER ambulance entrance, which is ALL GLASS, and where everyone at the nurses' station could see her talking to me.  I just put my hands in my pockets and stood still because I knew they were all looking and gossiping.

Not only was this the wrong place to talk to me but she could have been hit by a gurney coming through the door as she had her back to the door.

She told me I was wrong for 'talking' about her.  I told her if this other girl had talked to ME if she didn't like what she heard we wouldn't be having this situation.  She went behind my back.  What the tattler failed to tell the nurse manager is what SHE said about the drunk girl student.  She asked me and the other housekeeper if we could clock out and take her home because she was tired of  dealing with her and her other friends were too drunk to come and get her.  I could be a tattler and get her in trouble but I will keep it to myself.  If I get in trouble over this I will be hinting at the nurse manager's need to monitor the people on her team about making nasty remarks about patients because someone could have heard what SHE said and told it.

  • A SAD COMMENTARY

    HOLA,

They are bringing in drunk kids from UD, University of Dayton, after they had a drunken riot there at 5:30 this morning.  They said police had to bring about 1,000 kids under control so they needed extra police. Some St. Patrick's Day celebration!

If I were the parent of one of these kids they would be snatched out of school so fast!! What a waste of money!

The nurses at the station are laughing with this drunk kid when it is a complete HIPPA violation to do something like this.

They brought in a girl passed out earlier this morning.

    It's just sad, sad.

Hopefully we won't see anymore today.  :(

  • MENTAL HEALTH DAY

    HOLA!

Used some PTO time to take today off, so no working in the ICU for me today!   Had to get away from the craziness.  Larry and I are on vacation starting Monday but no money to go anywhere.

Getting away from that job will be vacation enough for me, plus I need to get some things done in the yard if the weather holds up.

I jumped up in bed this morning, looked at the clock, and said, "Oh no! I'm late for work.  The clock didn't go off!"  Larry reminded me that I took today off.  Not used to being off on a Friday.

Gotta get off here and get ready to run errands early and then CardioBounce at the Zumba Studio at 5:45 tonight.

    HASTA LUEGO!

For those of you who don't think I DO take time to put my feet up and relax, here it is.  I DO have to say my digital was nearby so I couldn't help myself!

I am going to take a short cat nap before getting ready for the CardioBounce class at Zumba Studio tonight.     Alas, I don't have a cat to prove that I will actually take a nap.

  • RAIN!

    HOLA,

Yesterday's time change had me moving in "slow" motion, if you can imagine that.  Takes me 2 days to get used to it so glad I am off today.

This month is going by fast!  Can't believe it's almost the middle of March already!

The ground is saturated now so rain has made the back yard one big messy puddle!!

Elita was home this past week but didn't take any pictures.  Larry took her back yesterday.

Jorge's class tonight.  Going to post office to mail Elita's taxes off.

Saw this on the news this morning. It is in Ecuador.

    Have a good day everybody!

Will be back later today. :)

  • IF ONLY . . .

     HOLA,

For those of you who have not heard of this guy, he is an amazing example of what you can do in life when you get on track and take advantage of opportunities that come your way.  His mom was truly amazing, raising 2 sons who turned out to be very productive citizens!

If only he was OUR President now!! He is speaking at the CPAC conference this month.  I can't wait to see what he talks about!!!

I can see "O" glaring now as this man is going to be in the limelight.

  • HERE WE GO AGAIN :(

    HOLA,

We are going to be in another "life changing event" this year!  Hopefully it all works out for the best with the plan we are going to do concerning it.

Larry is losing his job again and will know when his last day will be the end of March.  He is taking a buyout rather than risk staying and have them tell him the end of the year he is done, and get no compensation at all.

His ATM tech team has 5 guys, including him.  Three of them are taking the buyout.

We are going to pay the house off and try to find 2 used modestly priced cars as we need another one and he will have to get one as he will have to turn the company van in.

At 62 nobody wants to really hire you so we are praying he can find something once he knows when he is done with this job.

He did get an e-mail that there may be an opportunity to work as a contractor installing software in the ATMs but he won't know any details until he finds out when his last work day is.

We will also have to find minimum medical insurance and dental insurance as he will have none once he is done with NCR as an ATM tech.

Once we have the house paid off that will be a HUGE load off our shoulders and then he can use part of what that payment would be to pay off his other bills.

I am still looking for jobs but I may be stuck in the housekeeping job.  They are being big time nitpickers at the hospital in just about every dept.  now. I am just trying to keep my job until I get another one or retire at 62 and get a part-time job here in Huber Heights.  Our dept. is awful as far as the managers' attitudes.  They wonder why the younger people keep quitting but they give the older workers who show up on time and don't miss work a hard time over the stupidist things now.  It does not make for good employee morale.

Trying not to tell Elita too much as she has to focus on school.  She had 2 exams today so hopefully she passed them.  Don't know when her others are but her Easter Break starts March 1st.  We pick her up that following Monday after work.

It has been bothering Larry a little, losing a job just when we were making progress to get out of the hole but we are taking one phase at a time and praying that each decision we make will be one step further to the end of that tunnel.

Thanks for reading all of this.  I am just glad that none of us are people who just have to have certain things we can't do without or life just doesn't go on.  Living cheap definitely prepares you for hard times!  :)

Charlie didn't want Larry to go to work.

  • SUNNY BUT COLD

    HOLA,

Well, off for two days.  Sunny but cold out now, 36 degrees.  Ready for church tonight.  Larry said last week the pastor announced they are leaving the church after 3 years and moving to Texas.    I was just getting used to him as working every weekend I can only to 2 Sun. evenings a month.  I don't know if they decided or the church is sending them there on a new assignment as they were in Mississippi before they came to Ohio.

Still trying to find a job where I work at least every other weekend so I can go to church in the mornings but no luck so far.

This month has gone by so fast!  Hoping to get back to Zumba on Monday evening and get classes in on Mon., Tues., Wed. and Thurs.  Friday is pay week so gas, grocery shopping, etc. to be done then.

Time to get my shoes on and then out the door in 5 minutes.

    HASTA LUEGO,
