  • Fall Leaves

    Hola,

More leaves turning into pretty colors.

    AUTUMN

We need to get the ones out back raked up and take them to the leaf drop off.

The ones out front are blown to the curb but the city website didn't give a date for our zone.

Wish more people were back on Xanga.

  • A NEW LOOK

    HOLA

After many years we were able to get rid of the old carpet, padding and tack strips in the livingroom and hallway and have Lowe's put a laminate floor down.

    PROYECTOSALA13

Lord willing, over the next year we will get rid of carpet in the bedrooms.

We had lots of wind and rain last night but today is 48 and sunny.

Need to get this day started.

    Have a good weekend everybody.

  • CARRIAGE HILL

    HOLA

Went to see if I could get some tree colors but they haven't turned yet.

Did get to shoot some sheep.

    HERE'S TO EWE!

Hoping it will get cold enough next week to see if they have turned at Taylorsville Reserve.

It was warmer today than yesterday and now 53 and the sun has gone down.

November is right around the corner.  We have to take the carpet up tomorrow and move stuff out of the living room so Lowe's guy can put the floor down on Wed.  I will NOT miss the carept!! Flooring will be in the living room and the hallway.  I will go to the thrift store to find 2 small rugs for the hallway once it is done.

For some reason it wouldn't let me put the link from FB with these photos.

Was hoping it would come later.  Is is 34 now so turned the heat on long enough to bring the house from 64 to 68 as we will be going out soon.

    Snow flurries right now.

Later on we did get in a 1.5 mile walk in the park and I got some pictures of the trees changing color.

Jorge wasn't at Zumba.  He hurt his knee. We had a sub who did a different routine but she was very good.  :)

  • You

    HOLA,

Hope to see some more Xangans on here soon.

With Fall coming it has been mild enough to keep our heat off, even though these last few days it has been 66 when I woke up and checked the hall thermostat!

Trying to hold out till Nov. 1 as Larry is on Social Security now and I am paying myself with money from my IRA.

We have a digital thermostat now so it is more accurate.

Will be getting some wood shortened so we can split it and burn it in here, since we will be home more now.  Had 2 fires in here so far.

Will get the plastic window kits later so they will be set for winter, to keep the drafts out.

Looking forward to seeing Elita for Thanksgiving.

Lots to be thankful for this past year and I am so glad I am not working at that awful job where they just demean you and make you feel like nothing.

  • FALL IS COMING . . .

    Hola,

Overcast this morning and 63 but feeling cooler because of the dampness.

    Where is everybody?

Our leaves have not changed color yet.  I hope I get some good color this year so I can take some pictures for my desktop background.

Applied for a few part-time jobs but not going to hold my breath as many companies are not hiring till they see how this Obamacrap pans out.

I don't want anything with weekends because I did that for too long!

Enjoying my time getting stuff done around the house.  I miss Charlie because every time we went to the store he had to "approve" whatever we brought home but sniffing all the bags!

I just cleaned the patio door and storm door and the front storm door of his "nose and paw prints".  I just didn't want to do it last week, as I am getting rid of so much of him.

The vet animal hospital sent the nicest sympathy card and we got it in the mail today.

I have to wait after 2 pm to call and thank them, as they were having a staff meeting from 1 to 2 pm.

Have a great day/night people and don't forget to stop by here!  :)

  • ADIOS CARLITO . . .

    Hola,

Picked up Charlie's ashes this morning.    The lady vet did such a wonderful job when she put him down.

There were other bags with ashes from other pets on the shelf behind the reception desk, some small like Charlie's, others larger.

I didn't cry but I had a big lump in my throat and I told the girl to tell everyone in the office thanks for how wonderfully they took care of Charlie over the years.

Here are some pictures I took after picking his ashes up.  Not posting to FB so if you are on FB, please don't say anything, as Elita won't know until she comes home for Thanksgiving.

We had discussed this earlier in the year, that if he died or we had to put him down, we would not tell her if she was still in school.

    We miss you Charlie!

Thanks everyone for your kind words.  We are not going to get another dog but we are so thankful that we had Charlie in our lives.  He was 1 in a million!  :)

  • WHERE ARE ALL THE XANGANS?

    Hola,

I have been hoping to see more people are here.

    Where are you?

It's sunny and 46 here.  Have to get ready and get my errands run and then reorganize the kitchen.  Already threw out what I could so need to get the counter space clean and the cabinets wiped down.

We had a good time visiting family in NJ but Larry's side didn't take any pictures and mine didn't turn out well.

Hoping to get some from my baby sister of my side of the family later on today.  They were taking them with their phones but forgot to send me some.  :)

I had fun at my baby sister's house.  Totally different atmosphere from my MIL's house.  There are too many rules there and you feel like you are in a museum, can't keep your shoes on, etc.

I like to be relaxed and we had more fun at my sister's house.

She has 2 doggies, a boxer and a miniature pinscher.  They are so cute and it really made me feel good, especially after having to put Charlie down before we left.  Vet is supposed to call when she has his ashes back.

  • WELCOME TO HEAVEN, CHARLIE

    HOLA,

For those of you who have FB, please don't comment about this on there as we don't want Elita to know yet.

She has a lot of stress about mid-term exams right now so we will tell her later when she is home for Thanksgiving.

About 2 days ago Charlie started having these awful pain attacks in his back, yelping loudly like somebody was hitting him.  He would try to walk and then fall over, and then would look disoriented.

We gave him some Aspirin but it only helped a little.  Last night was the worst, with him yelping out almost every 2 hours.   At 6:30 I was crying so much, seeing him suffer, that I called the vet at 8:15, which is when they start taking appointments.

We took him to the vet at 8:30 and she put him down about 10 mins. later.  Larry had to leave because we had a guy from Lowe's coming and somebody had to be home at 9 am.

I couldn't help crying even though the vet was so gentle with him.  She gave him a sedative to make him a little drowsy and then put the needle in his back leg.  She listened to his heart and in 15 seconds he was gone.  :(

I look like crap now from crying but I know he is in Heaven and in no more pain.  He would have been 14 in January.

You have seen the pictures and videos I put up about him over the years.  He was a wonderful dog.  I know I will see him in Heaven too some day.

Thanks for your patience in reading this.
